We are seeking 2 Research Analyst to discover breakthrough research and forge university partnerships in neurotech, AI, robotics, medical devices, and pharma.
This role focuses on research intelligence, partnership development, and technology development to identify innovations that advance Dez Labs' cognitive care mission. You will bridge academic research with commercial application, translating emerging AI and scientific breakthroughs into actionable opportunities.
When successful, you will report directly to our Neurotech & Robotics Lead and work closely with product, engineering, and partnership teams.
Remote or Singapore-based (hybrid options available).
Entire organisation meets weekly on Tuesday 9pm-10pm Singapore which you must be able to attend.

Key Responsibilities
- Research discovery and monitoring (50%)
- Track emerging research across neurotech, AI, robotics, medical devices, and pharmaceutical domains.
- Harvest actionable insights from academic publications, preprints, conferences, and patent databases.
- Evaluate commercial viability and integration potential of breakthrough technologies.
- Maintain intelligence reports on key research groups, labs, and emerging technologies.
- Monitor trends in AI applications for healthcare, cognitive care, and assistive technology.
- University partnerships and relationship building (30%)
- Identify and map relevant research groups and principal investigators at universities globally.
- Establish relationships with academic researchers working on relevant technologies.
- Coordinate initial partnership discussions and technology transfer conversations.
- Attend relevant conferences and research events to build network and stay current.
- Support collaboration agreements and joint research initiatives.
- Analysis and communication (20%)
- Synthesise complex research findings into clear, actionable business insights.
- Present research intelligence to leadership and product teams.
- Assess technical feasibility and strategic fit of emerging technologies.
- Document findings, recommendations, and partnership opportunities.
- Contribute to product roadmap discussions with evidence from latest research.
Must-Have Experience
- Research foundations
- Strong research methodology skills including literature review and critical evaluation.
- Experience with academic databases such as PubMed, IEEE Xplore, arXiv, Google Scholar, or similar.
- Ability to read and understand technical papers across multiple domains.
- Familiarity with research trends in at least one target area: AI, neurotech, robotics, medical devices, or pharma.
- Communication and relationship skills
- Clear written and verbal communication, including translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with researchers or academic institutions.
- Experience presenting research findings or analysis to teams or stakeholders.
- Strong synthesis skills: connecting dots across disparate sources to identify patterns and opportunities.

- Analytical thinking with ability to assess technical and commercial feasibility.
- Understanding of technology transfer processes or innovation ecosystems.

About You:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Masters or double degree in Life Sciences, Neuroscience, Engineering, Computer Science, Biotech, or related fields, or can demonstrate equivalent real-world research experience.
- Motivated by real human problems, especially in healthcare, cognitive care, dementia, mental health, or assistive technology.
